Walking into Kavahana, I realized quickly that this isn't just a drink—it’s a ritual.<br><br>Kavahana manages to feel both upscale and incredibly grounded. Unlike the high-energy, loud environment of a typical bar, the energy here is mellow and conversational. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to "socialize without the booze."<br><br>I tried their traditional kava, and the sensation is unique. The taste is definitely "root-forward" and earthy, but the immediate numbing of the lips and tongue was the coolest part. Within about ten minutes, a gentle wave of relaxation hit—my shoulders dropped, and my mind felt clear but calm. It’s a "clean" kind of chill that doesn't leave you feeling foggy.

Such a lovely, grounding spot in Santa Monica 🌿<br>I had a really beautiful experience here. The team is young, present, and genuinely attentive — you can feel that they want to be here. Their attention is calm and embodied, not rushed, which makes you feel truly welcomed and at ease.<br>You can tell they actually love kava and enjoy what they do, and that energy carries through the whole space.<br>I especially loved sitting on the patio — it was warm, peaceful, and perfect for working on my laptop. It felt like a gentle coworking vibe: a few people working quietly, grounded, focused, and relaxed.<br>I’m really grateful this place exists in Santa Monica. It’s rare to find a spot that feels both nourishing and functional. I’ll definitely be back 🤍

My Ube kava drink was delicious, the veggie bao paired perfectly with it, and I got to enjoy the patio on a beautiful morning and they let me borrow a ukulele to boot. Feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thanks!!

i went here in april to try their matcha didnt like it BUT THEN i came today and it was AMAZING! The drinks are so good. And the barista is friendly always
