Updates may include clarification of program rules, participating locations, or app functionality. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on the HappyKava website. Continued use of the Passport constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms & Conditions.

By purchasing, accessing, or using the HappyKava Passport (“Passport”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Program Overview#

The HappyKava Passport is a digital discovery program available through the HappyKava app.

The Passport allows an eligible user to redeem one included drink (“Passport Shell”) per participating kava bar, one time per location, during the Passport term.

The Passport is designed for exploration and first-visit discovery, not repeat discounts at a single bar.

2. Plan Types & Billing#

The Passport is offered in Monthly and Annual plans:

  • Monthly Passport renews each billing period until canceled.
  • Annual Passport is a one-time purchase for a one-year term.

Billing timing and renewal status are shown in the app and/or in your purchase receipt.

3. Passport Term & Validity#

  • Monthly Passport is valid for the active billing period shown in the app.
  • Annual Passport is valid for one (1) year from activation, unless otherwise stated at purchase.
  • Activation occurs when the Passport becomes active in the HappyKava app.
  • Unused Passport Shells do not roll over and have no cash value after expiration.

4. Pricing, Promotions & Sales#

  • Passport pricing may vary based on timing, promotions, or eligibility.

  • Promotional pricing or coupon codes are:

    • Time-limited
    • Subject to change
    • Available only where explicitly stated

All Passport purchases are final, except where required by law.

5. What the Passport Includes#

  • Monthly: Up to 10 Passport Shells per month, at up to 10 different participating bars.
  • Annual: One Passport Shell per participating bar, once per location.

The Passport Shell at each bar is defined by that bar and may include:

  • Kava
  • Tea / K-Tea

Add-ons, upgrades, premium items, or additional drinks are not included unless explicitly offered by the bar.

6. Participating Bars#

  • The Passport is valid only at participating kava bars listed in the HappyKava app.

  • Participating bars may:

    • Join or leave the program
    • Pause participation temporarily
    • Change their Passport Shell definition or terms

The HappyKava app is the source of truth for participation status and bar-specific terms.

7. Redemption Rules#

  • One Passport Shell per participating bar

  • Redemptions must be:

    • In person
    • Completed through the HappyKava app
    • Shown on a live in-app screen (screenshots are invalid)

Once redeemed at a bar, that location is marked as visited and cannot be redeemed again.

Redemptions are subject to:

  • Bar operating hours
  • Bar-defined restrictions or blackout windows
  • Availability, inventory, and staffing

In the event of any conflict, error, outage, or ambiguity, the HappyKava app’s current display of Passport status, participation, and eligibility shall be the controlling source of truth.

8. Bar-Defined Terms#

Each participating bar independently controls:

  • What their Passport Shell includes
  • Eligible days and times
  • Any restrictions or blackout periods

HappyKava does not guarantee specific drinks, menus, or availability at any location.

9. Inside Guides & Informational Content#

The HappyKava app may provide Inside Guides or First-Timer Guides, including:

  • Parking tips
  • General etiquette
  • Menu previews
  • What to expect on arrival

This information is provided for convenience only and does not guarantee service or experience.

10. Account Use & Non-Transferability#

  • The Passport is non-transferable
  • It may only be used by the account holder who purchased it
  • Sharing, selling, or attempting to transfer the Passport may result in suspension or termination without refund

11. Fraud Prevention & Validation#

  • Passport redemptions require live, in-app validation
  • Screenshots, recordings, or copied redemption screens are invalid
  • Staff may refuse redemption if validation requirements are not met

HappyKava reserves the right to suspend or revoke a Passport if misuse or abuse is detected.

12. No Guarantees#

HappyKava does not guarantee:

  • That all listed bars will remain active for the full Passport term
  • That you will be able to visit all participating locations
  • That a specific drink will be available at redemption time

Each bar operates independently.

13. Refunds & Cancellations#

  • Annual Passport purchases are non-refundable, except where required by law.
  • Monthly Passport subscriptions can be canceled for future periods; past charges are non-refundable, except where required by law.
  • Unused Passport Shells do not entitle the holder to refunds, credits, or substitutions.

14. Program Changes#

HappyKava may update or modify:

  • App features
  • Redemption workflows
  • Participating bars
  • These Terms & Conditions

Material changes will be communicated where appropriate through the app or website.

15. Limitation of Liability#

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • HappyKava is not responsible for the quality, safety, or service provided by participating bars
  • HappyKava is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to Passport use

Your interaction with each bar is a direct interaction between you and that business.

16. Governing Law#

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable laws in the jurisdiction where HappyKava operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
