Job Title: Kava Tender / Botanical Bartender Company: Decades Kava Social Lounge Overview Welcome to Decades Kava Social Lounge. We are looking for an energetic and outgoing Kava Tender to be the face of our bar and create an incredibly welcoming, relaxed environment for our community. In this role, you won’t just be pouring drinks—you’ll be educating guests on our botanical menu, crafting specialty kava and tea beverages, and keeping the good energy flowing. Whether you’re guiding a first-timer through their first shell or catching up with our regulars, your personality and attention to detail will be the reason people keep coming back. Why Work With Us? Responsibilities Expertly prepare and serve a variety of kava drinks, botanical teas, coffees, and specialty non-alcoholic beverages. Act as a guide for our guests, answering questions, explaining the effects of different botanicals, and offering personalized recommendations to first-timers. Operate our Clover POS system and accurately handle cash and card transactions. Maintain a spotless and sanitary bar area, ensuring all beverage prep stations meet strict hygiene standards. Keep the entire lounge area—including customer seating and the pool table area—clean, organized, and welcoming. Assist with inventory management, restocking supplies, and monitoring product freshness. Skills & Requirements Previous experience in bartending, barista work, or high-volume customer service is highly preferred. Experience using a Clover POS system is a major plus. A naturally friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to chat with anyone and command a room. Excellent multitasking skills to keep drinks flowing accurately during busy rushes. Knowledge of (or a strong willingness to learn about) kava, botanical teas, and their traditional preparations. Basic math skills for fast and accurate cash handling. Solid understanding of standard beverage sanitation and workspace hygiene.
