The Chill Room isn’t your average nightlife spot. We’re a kava and botanical lounge serving up functional, alcohol-free drinks that help people unwind, connect, and reset. No hangover required. We’re looking for a Kavatender to join our Tempe crew. This is more than a bar gig. You’re curating energy, building relationships, and helping people feel like they belong. What’s a Kavatender? Think: part bartender, part vibe-setter, part wellness guide. You’ll be the one people come to after long days, hard breakups, or just to laugh with friends on a Tuesday night. You’ll learn how to serve calming, uplifting botanicals like kava, kratom, and adaptogens and help guests find their new favorite feeling. You Might Be Our Ideal Kavatender If You: Love people and know how to hold space for all kinds of guests Prefer deep convos over small talk but can still keep a line moving Are curious about wellness, plant medicine, or sober nightlife Can handle a rush, clean as you go, and ask for help when needed Know how to stay grounded when someone else isn’t Have service experience (bar, café, customer-facing is a plus) A Night Behind the Bar Might Look Like: Crafting functional mocktails and signature kava drinks Welcoming new customers and guiding them through our menu Remembering regulars’ favorite drinks (and maybe their dogs' names) Keeping the space clean, calm, and stocked Holding boundaries with love; no freebies, no phones on the bar, no drama Being part of a team that’s actually… a team Availability & Commitment: We’re currently hiring for part-time and full-time positions, especially evening and weekend shifts.
