Question 1

What is BULA RUSH: Kava Krawl?

Accepted Answer

Kava Krawl is the current BULA RUSH inside HappyKava, also called the Crawl. Run as real regulars through pixel-art kava bars, jump between the floor and furniture, collect shells, and finish with a pour and a BULA toast. Clear stops to open the next part of the map.

Question 2

Can I still play the original BULA RUSH?

Accepted Answer

The current app opens Kava Krawl in place of the original game. The original Endless, Time Attack, Sudden Death, Kava Tolerance, Bar Hop and two-player Quick Match are not selectable in the current game. Closing Time Survival is the new endless chase.

Question 3

Is BULA RUSH free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kava Krawl is free inside HappyKava on iPhone and Android, with no separate game purchase. Some optional runners require HappyKava+ membership. Custom runners and bar levels are separate paid commissions; neither is needed to play.

Question 4

Do I have to be at a kava bar to play?

Accepted Answer

You can play the Crawl anywhere. Checking in at a featured bar adds benefits: shell pickups score double at its level, qualifying visits unlock associated runners, and participating bars offer Shell Hunt and Turf activity. A check-in is not a ticket to ordinary play.

Question 5

Do I need Passport to play?

Accepted Answer

No. Passport is separate from Kava Krawl. You do not need Passport or a Passport Shell to start a run, and playing does not redeem one.

Question 6

Do I need a HappyKava account?

Accepted Answer

You can start playing as a guest on the current app. Sign in for verified leaderboard results and account features such as friend challenges, saved Shell Hunt finds and Turf participation. Crawl progress, shell savings and streaks are stored on this device; signing in does not make them sync across devices.

Question 7

How do I find the game in HappyKava?

Accepted Answer

Open More, then Games, then BULA RUSH to reach the crawl map. You can also enter from a BULA RUSH card on Home, a bar page or the check-in screen. At a featured bar, its card can open that bar's level directly.

Question 8

What can I play within BULA RUSH?

Accepted Answer

Follow the main Crawl, try the Daily Crawl, escape through Closing Time Survival, or build a nine-stop Krawl Expedition. Closing Time and Blackout are special levels and twists within the Crawl. Other games in the Games hub have their own rules.

Question 9

Is Bar Hop still a separate mode?

Accepted Answer

Floor and counter movement is now part of the Crawl itself. Jump onto bar tops, tables and shelves, slide under trays, or drop back to the floor. The old cash-collecting Bar Hop mode is not a separate choice in Kava Krawl.

Question 10

What happens at Closing Time?

Accepted Answer

Closing Time is a finale where a mop tide follows you through the bar. Clean dodges and shell pickups push it back; getting caught costs a heart. Later parts of the Crawl have their own closing-time chases. Closing Time Survival expands that idea into a separate endless mode.

Question 11

What is Blackout?

Accepted Answer

The power goes out and you run inside a small spotlight. Watch for eyes on animals and glints on objects, with brief flickers revealing the room. Blackout is a World 2 finale, and later bar levels also use lights-out stretches.

Question 12

How does Closing Time Survival work?

Accepted Answer

Escape through connected bars while the mop tide keeps coming. Every door brings a faster or busier stretch; losing all your hearts ends the run. Your result counts bars escaped, then distance, then points. Signed-in runs can be verified for the mode's weekly ranking; the map card shows this device's best for the week.

Question 13

How does Krawl Expedition work?

Accepted Answer

Take a route through nine bars, choose offers between stops, and pick the next door. Side doors are harder and pay more points. Abilities change your build, hearts carry between bars, and losing them all ends the expedition. The ninth stop is a closing-time finale. You can leave and resume the saved expedition on this device.

Question 14

How do the controls work?

Accepted Answer

In the app, tap to jump, hold for height, and tap again for an air jump. Swipe down to slide, drop from a platform or fall faster. You can switch to left/right touch zones instead. Tap a saved powerup to use it. The browser demo uses a simpler jump-only control scheme.

Question 15

What happens when I lose my hearts?

Accepted Answer

In the main Crawl, you respawn at a checkpoint and can keep trying. A respawn costs the no-respawn star for that attempt. Closing Time Survival and Krawl Expedition end when all hearts are gone. Signs and puddles cause stumbles without taking a heart.

Question 16

How do I earn the three stars?

Accepted Answer

Finish the level, collect all its golden shells, and finish without respawning. Each goal earns a star. Stars already earned stay yours, so you can collect them across separate clears. A no-respawn clear can still include hits.

Question 17

What do the drinks and saved slot do?

Accepted Answer

Kava gives seven seconds of slow motion and double points while active; green tea attracts shells, white tea helps you glide, and red tea dashes through trouble. The first kava or tea waits in your saved slot; another activates immediately while that slot is full. Water heals at once, and iced tea gives a short dash instead of being saved.

Question 18

What are shells, goals and kava strengths for?

Accepted Answer

Clears bank shells in your device's wallet. Earn more through daily goals, a play streak and weekly bar challenges, then spend them on Mild or Strong kava or skipping a stop. Mild starts with five hearts at lower scoring, Regular has three, and Strong has one at higher scoring. These are game choices, not real-money bets.

Question 19

How do I unlock runners?

Accepted Answer

Some runners are ready immediately; others come from bar check-ins, achievements, sponsor powerups, secrets or HappyKava+ membership. Pom needs a clear while checked in, and the Goat needs three stars on every Crawl level. This page previews a selection; the app also includes Kava Chris, unlocked by checking in at Elixir Lounge in Spring, Texas. Trying a runner in the demo does not unlock them in the app.

Question 20

How do scores and leaderboards work?

Accepted Answer

Signed-in clears can earn a verified result and a place on that level's board. The Daily Crawl has its own date-specific results. Survival and Expedition have separate weekly ranking rules; their map cards show this device's weekly best. There is no Practice/Ranked switch or four-way Local/National/Weekly/All-time selector in the current Crawl. Offline play can continue without a posted result.

Question 21

Can I race another player live?

Accepted Answer

The original two-player Quick Match is not part of Kava Krawl. You can race a recorded ghost of your personal best, or the bar's top run when available. The ghost repeats a past run; another person does not need to be playing alongside you.

Question 22

What other games are in HappyKava?

Accepted Answer

Games also has Perfect Pour, Shell Hunt and Turf. Loser Buys adds friend challenges and The Tab to Perfect Pour. BULA BINGO LIVE is for live bingo nights at bars when available. Each game has its own rules.

Question 23

What is Perfect Pour?

Accepted Answer

The Crawl's finishing pour becomes its own precision game: hold to pour and let go at the line. Solo continues until a miss, Daily Five gives everyone the same five shells, and Pass and Play lets two to six people take turns on one phone.

Question 24

How do Loser Buys and The Tab work?

Accepted Answer

After a verified Perfect Pour solo run, a signed-in player can challenge a friend by link to the same shells. The result adds a friendly shell owed on The Tab. Nothing is charged or transferred, and either player can mark it settled. This challenge feature is currently for Perfect Pour, not Crawl runs.

Question 25

How does Shell Hunt work?

Accepted Answer

Each participating bar hides a shell in its BULA RUSH level every week. Check in there to see it, pick it up, and clear the level. Sign in and stay online to have the verified find recorded. The hunt tracks bars and cities completed; a find does not automatically award a prize.

Question 26

What is Turf?

Accepted Answer

Turf is a separate game about holding a bar as a regular or with a crew. Join to participate; check-ins earn points, and a verified clear at the bar while checked in can add more. Activity over the last seven days determines who holds it. It is separate from the Crawl's doubled-shell check-in bonus.

Question 27

Can I change the music?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose Bar's pick or one of four built-in tracks: Arcade Mode, Splash It, Classic Loop and Bula Rush. Bars with an available playlist can offer their own songs too. Music and sound effects have separate controls. The website player samples two tracks.

Question 28

Is this browser demo the full game?

Accepted Answer

The demo is a simplified jump-only sample with a local best score. It does not contain the full Crawl, finales, Survival, Expedition or companion games. Demo scores stay in this browser and do not transfer to HappyKava or its leaderboards. Get the app for the full experience.
